This is me being a DORK ~ one of my dorkiest pictures ever, but HEY, I love it anyway ~ leaning against my sweet, sweet pumpkin. The phosphorescent pumpkin, that is.

My user name is a song by Luz Divina. I like the song and it reminds me of my OM.

Heya Everyone....

Well, first off, most of you know me as Michele but my nickname in real life is actually Mimi...

Mine comes from the first two letters of my real name MI and was given to me by a very old friend who at the same time nicked my best pal as Dede for Denise.....from then on we were known as Mimi & Dede ;)

When we were dating, my OM always called me his missy. He just had a really cute way of saying it, so it kind of stuck. During our first dance at the wedding, he called me missymissus because we were all married up. I thought it was cute, so its become my new username of choice.

Hi everyone! Mine is exactly what it is. My life is completely confusing right now...lol. I am from agelesslove too. I used the same name. :)

Well...I'm unoriginal and use the same name for EVERYTHING!!

My name comes from a girl scout trip in which we went skiing. I decided I wanted to be more sophisticated than Nadine...so I went with Jesique. I even got the ski instructor to call me that the whole time! And I got to be his special assistant. *grin*

I always use it...and I usually write it with the j as a lowercase...cuz I think it looks better.

Nadine.

I also used moon at ageless (BTW, it is nice to see so many familiar faces, I didn't realize I would know so many people here - hi everyone!!!). I started using moon because I wear a moonstone ring everyday. I have always been really attracted to moonstones and I am fascinated by all of the symbolic imagery of the moon.

What can I say, I'm a nerd, I know! ;)

Mine is probably pretty self-explanatory because I do have a love for life...however for me it is more symbolic of a renewed love for life...

in a nutshell, due to some big life changes for me, in the last two years or so I have basically become a completely different person and therefore have a renewed sense of myself -- hence the new "Love for Life" -- couldn't honestly say I would have proclaimed to have had that before.

Makes me happy to remind myself of where I am now :)

I used to be Otto over at Ageless. Before that I was viva***la***gourami!

Over here I'm SierraNevada. Why? I was drinking a SierraNevada pale ale when I registered. I've never actually been to the SierraNevadas. I've been to the Sangre deChristos. Totally different mountain range though.

Don't remind me. Now every time I mention you to someone, I have to say "viva/Otto/SierraNevada" or else nobody knows who I'm talking about. LOL! :D

I think someone gave me it back in high school (wow, that was many years ago) in an anime club where I was club president (yes, I’ll admit….I’m a DORK! ‘_’ ) I’ve always been involved in some way with martial arts and growing up I was very introverted and ninjas are viewed as loners who were big on morals and nature. The ninja have a misconception of who they are and I spent a whole year, when ever I had a minute, researching the history of the ninja. They were pretty much derived from country folks (which I am). So the person that give me the name know that I had some martial arts experience and I’m a BIG person of COURAGE and HONOR so I just have been stuck with the name and I like it.

Ninja, I love your avatar and the back story behind it! Also, I used to be obsessed with medieval Japanese history and spent two years researching 16th-century martial culture, focusing primarily on the samurai but I did come across some info on ninjas too. It's hard to find good resources on ninjas that are not tainted by Hollywood lore. I would love to study martial arts (either aikido or kendo) but just haven't been able to find the time.

Thank you EmZack, the avatar is a character from one of my favorite manga entitled “Blade of the Immortal.” She’s a female ninja character. A friend of mines said I resembled this character when I cut my bangs myself (WILL NEVER DO THIS AGAIN, BAD IDEA). I too haven’t been able to find the time to go back to a dojo. I want to pick up wushu kung-fu again, but at the moment I’m just reading the philosophy of wushu. Too busy with school and my new position at work so I’m waiting until things slow down. It’s a great way to stay in shape because it’s a lot of cardio and it’s good for self defense. As an old Chinese proverb goes “Strong dogs don’t bark.” This means that you don’t have to parade around with weapons or have huge muscles to prove that you’re a strong person. Strength comes within.

I agree completely. One of my friends has been studying martial arts for over 25 years. He has TWO black belts--one in karate and one in kendo. But if you saw him on the street, you wouldn't think to look twice. He's a college professor, very quiet and soft-spoken. Yet he can probably have you flat on the ground with a flip of his wrist. Weird!

oh bout a hundered years ago (okay, 10 but it seems that long!) I had gotten into Isreali Dancing. I'm not Isreali (I'm an Irish Jew, figure that one out!) but anyways. One fairly popular dance was known as the "Chicky chicky". I was the only person I know who could actually figure it out and took to teaching it at a summer camp that I was working at. Before long the little kids started calling me the chicky chicky girl. That same summer I got my first computer and opened my first email account. So I opened my first ever email account as "chikygrl". The 13 is my lucky number (I was born on Friday the 13th!). Besides, I am both a chick and a girl!
I've had the name FOREVER!!!

I love Arlo--I think it sounds cool! I'm all for funky names but Hubby is not as adventurous. He doesn't even want me to use "Amadeus" (after Mozart) as a MIDDLE name.

Arlo is a neat name. I've never heard that one. I also like Amadeus, but I couldnt use the name because my sister-in-law named her dog that. It would just be weird to give a kid the same name as the dog. If we have a girl we would name her Shannon, and a boy would be Joseph since thats my hubby's middle name and he already gave his first name to his oldest. They arent very adventurous names, but I kinda like them.

I've never heard the name Arlo before.
Shane and I are thinking Emma for a girl. I'd like to use Lee as a middle name (my greatgrandmother and his mom were both named Lee) but "Emma Lee" would be a little too Southern for my taste.
Other names include Kayleigh (I'm Irish!) or Abagail (abigail adams is my fav historical figure).
Boys names, I like Thomas, but Shane hates it.
Sean has come up (but he thinks it's too much like his name!)
Possibly Colin (again the Irish thing!) I figure I'll just let him pick boy's names.
(Louis would be the middle name, it's a 3 generation tradition in Shane's family) and Clifford may have been his dad's name, but I keeping of Cheers.

My man's nephew named his second daughter Isabelle Bailey... Bailey is after Jerry Bailey...the Jerry DON! JD! Most winningest jockey of all time, who retired on Saturday! Hats of to you Jerry D. Bailey. The man was fearless blowing through the hole or in on the rail.

Anyway...this little girl. We call her Izzy. Her mother HATES it. She wants the baby to be called Bella. Problem is...we all call her Izzy and we're never going to change our minds. I think it's awesome. If I had a kid, I would love to name them (boy or girl) Izzy. Izzy Bailey...such a cool name.

I like creative names as long as they are not too creative. I like Persephone for a girl. Or Percy...for short. Only when she grows up will she realized she was named after the greek godess of the underworld. And for reasons I can't explain...I like the name Anson for a boy. I used to live in a town called Anson. And I like the way it sounds on Anson Carter the hockey player. I also like Marcus (in homeage to Marcus Aureilus, ruler of the empire). I also like Benedict (in homage to the general from America). I like Qunicy (in homage to John Adams' son).

My son is Gaelen Neile. My daughter is Lira Lonette. I LOVE both their names and so do they. They've never met another kid with the same names. EVER. LOL. Gaelen is sort of a combination of Galen and my sister's name, Gael. Lira is money. MONEY MONEY. And she SO IS...

Little swimsuit model. Bwahahhaha...

If Litical and I have a baby together, like I said before... a boy would be Ender Edgar. A girl name is kind of all over the place... possibly Marian Joyce (after both my grandmother and his) or MJ for short, or maybe something entirely different. However, if it comes up on the top 100 girl names list, I won't be naming her that. I want my children's names to be totally unique.

Oh, and if anyone wants to use Gaelen or Lira, since they are now 10 and 5 respectively, go ahead. ;) LOL

My ex-step-son had a half-brother named Iggy, who was, by far, one of THE coolest and most intelligent kids I've ever met.

Thanks, Emzak! She goes through phases where she looks just like me for a few weeks, then she looks like her other half-brother (my ex-step-son) for a while. It's really fun watching her grow and change. Gaelen, on the other hand, has looked EXACTLY the same since the day he was born, only he's HUGE now. Way too tall!!! I think he's about 5' 6" thesedays. Got another foot to go according to the doc's... but hell he's only TEN right now.

Ya really know an ADULT with the name Ender? Edge is cool, but seems more like someone's chosen nickname. Kinda like an old friend's best friend who was Zap (a girl). It suited her, too.

No, Ender comes from Ender's Game, a sci-fi novel by OS Card which is soon to be made into a movie directed by Wolfgang Petersen  but the kids name in the book was really Andrew... but his sister called him Ender. And he was a "third" in a futuristic world where it is illegal to have third children. If we have a boy, he will be Litical's first and MY third and FINAL, therefore... Ender.
