Hubby and I went and met the specialist who will do his vasectomy reversal today. He usually does 2 a week, and has done well over 2000. So he sounds like a great guy to have do the surgery.
We talked with him about the odds of the surgery working, and he says we have about a 90% chance of a typical reversal working even though its been about 25 years since he had the original vasectomy done. Even if that doesnt work, he can do a bypass with about a 70% chance of that working. It would be more expensive, but it sounds like even if a reversal doesnt work, we still have a fantastic chance of having biological children.
The date of his surgery is set to be August 18, so on September 8,2006 we will be actively trying to concieve!! If it somehow manages to happen the first month, we may have a baby in June next year.
