First off, MTaG had another great week in terms of getting new members--a big warm welcome to Derek, Scott, tlhowe, DancingBrave, Faith, Skysister, shesmilesalot, wynoi, semore, ria_lynn, Prompe, thyroxine, davidseville, and BrainDamage. As always, if I forgot anyone, my apologies and please speak up! :)

Second, davidseville sent me a very nice PM about himself that I thought would make a great introduction for the group, so here it is:

Em,

Thanx for the qwik welcome; whatta surpise. I found your site listed on a bulletin board at agegap.com, where I've been a member for many years on their Yahoo Group.

FYI: A little background, I'm currently 63 (real estate developer/consultant/mentor) going on 22, she's 18 (university bus admin student) going on 40. Next mo is one year/no sex yet/ happy as clams/ feel blessed with all the outrageous joy & individual growth we've already had/ engaged to be married '07. Age, sex & money had/has nothing to do w/anything..., excepting the misguided perceptions, judgments & opinions from external sources. (oh well) I was married ten glorious years each to two different younger ladies where one was a 26 yr agegap & the other 13 yr agegap. I have six great kids 22-40. Obviously, there is something of the kid in me that just never wanted & still doesn't want to give up the driving vitality of my youth, falling victim to the trappings of traditions, emotional/mental baggage of yesterdays, etc. Just like when I was a kid, loving life & waiting for the next magical experience to manifest, all these ladies walked into my life; I did not seek out any of them, and age never had anything to do w/our being attracted nor separating. I'm always seeking hope, optimism, enthusiasm and love for life's wondrous potentials, working on growth, progress & fulfilling the impossible dreams in life, just like when I was being thrilled w/the speed of my bike at 12 or 13. Your site effected me in that way. I was engaged within moments after I saw the opening page and read some of the messages on the forum. "WOW!!! There's some real free energy, lovin' life & fresh air in here!!!"

I'm also a member of agelesslove as well as agegap, because I remain a student of life, always trying to learn about myself from others. But..., there remains (for me) a lack of stimulation in those sites and their members, where I always quietly wondered to myself, "...is this all there is???" "I know I have experienced and still feel such an enormity of wonder, magic & passion for having been blessed (three times), ...living the May-Dec anomaly of unconditional love". "Where is that???"

Congratulations on all I've seen at your site in just a half hour; it's refreshing & invigorating to say the least.

David

P.S. You're welcome to post my reply if you choose.

Yeah! True! What a very cool guy!

My guy just turned 59, and I'm 25, so we have similar age gaps.
I'd have him post here now that we have more guy members, but he's a techniphobe and can barely use him own email. :)

Welcome David! I agree with CrackerJack...I wish more people had your attitude about life..the world would be a much better place.

This is the BEST site (I've been to the "other" site as well, was actually a Moderator there for quite some time *grins smuggly* it's like night and day..literally...between the two sites, I am not longer a member of the "other" site)...and I try to let others know as often as possible just how great this place is.

Again...a warm welcome to you. I hope you enjoy your stay here!:)

What beautiful thoughts. :)

Welcome!

Thankfully for us we have this fresh, innovative site to come to to exchange ideas, make friends and have fun.

Sadly, the other site you mentioned is poorly managed. Subsequently, it has become very bland. The politics behind the scenes combined with the overmoderation and favoritism destroyed it.

You have a lovely way with words. I look forward to reading your posts.

:)
