I don't see why it would be controversial, and anyone who wants to go that route will get a big ole ~phossy smack upside the noggin! :eek: I'm very interested to hear of your progress and am BIG TIME hoping you succeed without any serious difficulty.

Man, the injections and all sound really rough.

I am wondering though, do you know why the odds of twins are that high? I obviously havent looked into it as much as you have, but I always read there was a bigger chance of not having twins.

cool....I had just always heard that either your body accepted two or it didnt. I didnt know they had a technology to seriously improve the odds.

I really hope you get your twins on the first attempt.

Can I ask why you want twins? I'm scared of having just one baby....let alone two!!! :eek: *grin*

I think the idea of twins, especially when going through IVF, is awesome. If we end up having to go that route, we'll try for twins. Get two for one procedure. Sounds good to me.

that's just SO COOL!! Before I got into history I seriously considered being a campagin manager. I still work for the Dems here in LA when I can (much to the chagrin of my best friend who works for the Governator!)

Politics can be fun, but it can also be ridiculously stressful.
My job is campaigning and it's very intense.
I have, however, lost five pounds doing it.

i am sorry you dont feel good but it is for a good reason!i loved reading how all the process is going and i hope everything goes good for you too and next year you are not 2 but 4 :D

and oh yeah, the twin thing looks like a great idea to me,actually if i could choose i would have two at a time and be done with it, when ivf'ing sounds even a better idea so you dont have to go through the whole process again

Well Nasmah, I can understand GS wanting to have 2 and not go through this a second time... shots, sickness, all that goes along with that. :eek: I know I wouldn't. But, I believe if she didn't have the natural crimp, she'd probably be like most women I know... who enjoy being pregnant. GS just strikes me as the type who will really, really love being pregnant. And when that's the case, it's almost a SAD thing to not be able to do it again on a whim...

GS, I'm wishin' ya nothing but GREAT things. I think you're terrific, and hope you conceive on the very first try. :D And I believe you will enjoy every single moment of being pregnant. Even the pains and kicks to the bladder and kidneys. LOL.

i am so scared to give birth (i dont know if that is the word in english heh) that i would just do it once if i could :D i guess pregnancy can be annoying sometimes when you feel bad but overall a great experience, it is the last part what freaks me out, i feel like i will be unable to do it when the time comes :eek:

Nasmah, that's what I mentioned before...but Phos had some great words to say about the whole experience on the Babies? thread. Probaby once you go thru it once, the second time around won't be nearly as scary, I'm sure...

And btw, you used the right word!! :)

Yep. :D Go read the end of the babies?? thread. It was a ~phosmonster tell all. ;) And the whole "giving birth" part is... well, nowhere near as scary as some people make it out to be. It's actually pretty darn COOL. I SO want to do it again. :eek: The risks of giving birth these days compared to just 50 years ago??? Well, they are practically eradicated... The delivery of my daughter was probably one of the wholey most awesome experiences of my life. :D

I'm very sorry, GS, but know that you are meant to be a mother and it will happen. Just keep your faith high.

Ooh and plus......I have a friend that went through IVF and got pregnant their first round, but lost the baby around 9 weeks. Amazingly, a month later she had conceived naturally and had a beautiful baby boy. They also have a little girl now and both were conceived naturally. It seems the IVF like jump started her body into action.

I'm sorry about your loss. You sound like a really positive person, which will help you as you try again.

Why do some think IVF is controversial? I think it's great to want a child so much that you are willing to go through such physical and emotional upheaval to conceive. Not for me, but I respect it.

Are the chances the same of having identical and fraternal twins? I would imagine the chance is higher for fraternal twins since they are implanting multiple fertilized eggs.

If you had a choice, would you prefer them to be identica or notl? I think it would be neat to have an identical twin. Most often I hear they are exceptionally close--more than "regular" siblings.

Oh, GS, I'm so sorry.....take good care of yourself, have faith, and it will happen....
