The party was a freakin' blast... watchin' some of the fireworks from the backyard pool was killer cool. The tents, BTW, were actually set up in the official "front" yard. Tho, my house is a freakish anomoly. The entrance is the "side" door, which everyone thinks is the front. The back is where the pool is... the front is where the trampoline is... and the real back is where the dogs are. It's so confusing, even to us. ;)

I am just so pleased to have met these fantastic folks. How awesome! :D WOOOHOOOO.

Nope, we sure didn't. :( I don't think there were enough hours in the day. The tubing trip ended up being... oh, 6 hours. :eek: I think they all had fun, though, except for maybe Alec's ouchie butt bump on a rock. :o

Tubing, you would think that it was white rapids from hell from the shape of some of our bodies. Poor Alec's ass, (and I am not talking about Jes;p) Trish's ass looks like she slid through barbed wire and I look like I've been beaten I have grab marks on both arms (E-man trying to save Jenna) my ankle it the size of a peach, both knees look like I do "other things" for a living and I have that one dented leg now. But it was a blast:D

The fireworks? WoW!!! They had one I liked in particular that went off in all the crazy directions and whirled and whistled, much the way I feel most of the time:D It was really cool. I saw "real" fireworks for the first time in 31 years:D Don't got those back home!!!

I met my twin people!!! Everyone has one but how often do they actually meet? I met mine!! I was told she looks like me but I thought it would be a gross exaggeration. Even I saw that it wasn't!! Trying to eat and watching her and she is tossing all the cherry tomatoes and olives into the garbage right along side me:D In the bathroom putting on make-up and she is doing hers the same way. Weird,Weird,Weird!! BUT REALLY COOL!! I wanted to take her home with me.

I am glad I made the horrendous trip up. It was hellish. I saw every hick town in the entire U.S on my way. A normal person would have given up and went home. The trip back was far better. No thanks, to mapquest.

LOL Annie... yes, the woodstove is monstrously heavy AND leaky! But, it works and if the power goes out, we can still eat. :D

Tricia (not Trisha) is Eman's girlfriend. Eman is our roommate. Tricia is totally a Jenna twin. Even she thought so. LOL

The stove in the kitchen is part of why we bought the house. It's a replica of an old wood burning stove, only its electric. They are very expensive both to buy and repair (*deep sigh*) and the people before us obviously blew ALL their kitchen reno money on it, cuz the old cabinets were a hodgepodge and not even attached to the wall, since I suspect they intended to get a "real" kitchen someday.

I sometimes overly worry that people are going to think my house is... old... or dirty... or utterly disorganized (it is... old... and disorganized, but not dirty even though it looks it sometimes, compared to say ~ a new house with great floors that aren't 150 years old... y'know?) But, I forget that if the house charmed me in the hideous state it was in when I bought it (and haunted my dreams), it's likely to have a charming effect on others, too. :D

Today ~ with my back smarting again (so much so I wanna go home... Waaa) ~ I am ever so grateful that I didn't go tubing with the group. I KNOW I would have regretted it, as much as I LOVE doing it.

But, we got Emzak to go, and she's young and gorgeous and healthy, so that was a good thing! :D Hehehhe.

Polarity really DID get bum directions from Mapquest. Be wary, dear Canadian friends. If you use Mapquest to get into the states, for some screwy reason, they DO send you through every hobunk town possible on the way into the country. Instead, do this: get your directions from your destination HOME and just reverse them, k??? Cuz, I really was :eek: :eek: :eek: WTF about Polarity's directions HERE. MY GOD, they were screwy!!!

Yes, terrible directions and you only saw 2 of the 5 pages:eek: The trip home was way different. We stopped several times and stilll made it home in 9 hours. One of those stops was 30 mins long too!!!!

The speed factor was way better too!! Impressive. We went double what we did on the way there and stayed almost on the limit:D Wayyy better.

No, Poll I don't think I was through your town, it was the 1 I missed:rolleyes: of course.

I would absolutely bend over backwards, despite my bad back, for an opportunity to learn glass blowing. :cool: It's one of the coolest crafts there is to watch being done!! OH how I'd love to learn.

And no, there are no gators up this way! None that I've ever heard of OR seen, and I've been tubing a few times. ;)

Our rivers and back country really are gorgeous. Tinydancer actually LIVES in the one place I have considered "heaven on earth" since I was a teener. It's so unbelievably gorgeous up there (IN the mountains) and the Cacapon river is simply astounding! A friend of mine's parents had a doublewide trailer up in the mountain towards the top of the Cacapon literally right on the river with no other houses or anything anywhere to be seen and no lots "further up" whatsoever. We would go up there weekends and bathe in the river and wade up stream and climb up the mountain side to a large rock jutting out over the river. It was simply, unbelievably gorgeous. Fresh spring water out back the trailer and the most GREEN of GREEN surrounding you everywhere.

Absolute BLISS. I've travelled a lot and seen some amazing places in my life, but Berkeley Springs takes the cake. Nothing is prettier, whether budding spring green, rich dark summer green and sticky humid, fall blazing color arrays or deeply encrusted winter white. It's absolute heaven.

Yeah, glass-blowing is awesome. My neighbour does this for a living, and he LOVES it. Most nights that I drive by late, even around 11 or 12 pm, I'll see the glow from his workshop. He makes the most bizarre creations...very cool. He's given me a couple pendants for necklaces that are so nice - bit heavy though to wear.

Hey Annie, yes glass blowing is pretty cool.
Funny b/c my husband is also from the northwest and glassblowing is HUGE in BC, Eugene Or., WA., Idaho, etc., the market was almost flooded out there lol.
Not as much of the hardglass on the eastcoast.......yet :) It is more of the little soft glass animals and so on.
My husband makes beautiful pendants, among other things, now even earrings, and yes, they were at first, very heavy but he learned b/c I cannot wear heavy jewelry either.
He is teaching my/our daughter to blow......I try not to get too nervous, ACK!
He sells most of the jewelry, ornaments, window teardrops, and so on in a store here in Berkeley Springs but his biggest income in glass comes from his gorgeous pipes etc...shhhhhh :eek:
