Trimming...down there...

ReiRei

When I was younger I shaved down there...it was refreshing..but then the next day, I started to get a rash and bumps and all that icky stuff. So, I never tried it again. But lately..I've been thinking..the bottom half was fine, but the top half was itchy...You know how some women shave the bottom and then trim the top? I've been thinking about doing that...but I dont' know the proper way of doing that! So..yeh..if anyone can give me advice to do this, I would appricate it. :)

Thank you

OK here is my take on this

I would do a poodle cut if i was to shave just the lips and above the cleft where the clit is

my husband prefers that I do the brazillain wax thing and so do it.

take two advill before you go make sure your well moisturized from your knees to your belly button at least two weeks in advance twice a day (with exfoliation) and you should be fine. here in baltimore it's about 50 dollars for a wax but it lasts about 4 weeks.

Actually I shave all of it down there, to prevent the rash I put roll on deodorant on the skin.... Hey I heard it on the radio, and it actually worked....

if you really want to shave it all i heard using hair conditioner instead of shave cream works well and it did when i shaved.

Yup, it's true - it's more moisturizing. And if you can get your hands on Bumble and Bumble's Super Rich conditioner, it's the best to shave with! :D

Waxing is always great. But if you don't like the pain or don't want to deal with waiting for the hair to grow long enough, I have a little trick. I get bumps when I use a razor too, so I use trimmers, like for a man's hair line or beard. Don't use a guard . . . it gets really close - not as close as a razor, but close enough for day-to-day and I don't get any bumps. And you can do it everyday if you need to. AND you can do it right over your toilet, no water, no soap, just shave. I am really fair, so my hair is pretty light, but I turned my best friend on to it who is mexican with dark, course hair and she loves it too.

I have been shaving down there for about 5 years now and I love it! I couldnt imagine there being hair there!

I just use women's shaving cream because the men's kind burns! Other than that I have never had a problem with rashes and itching. I do use a Venus razor though...dont know of it makes a difference.

See, now.. I had the OPs issue and for many years was like... screw that!

But, I got one of those handy dandy Bikini Touch trimmers. Works PERFECT. It completely shaves the ~ ah ~ lip area to smooth byebye happiness and even has a little adaptable "trimmer" if ya wanna leave a landing strip above the clit. You can also make shapes. Funfun. I ONLY shave the actual bikini line. No way a razor is going near my delicate girl skin. Hell no oh no. And all bare, to me, just seems frighteningly pedophilic. I mean, I'm a WOMAN. I EARNED that... no way is it all going away for anybody. :p

And all that works fine for me. A Bikini Touch is about $15... and it takes maybe 5 - 10 minutes before a shower once or twice a week to keep it nice.

And Yep, for the shaved area, definitely use deoderant. No more bumplies or rashies.

Amen woman! I feel the same way - I tried it once and I thought it was a little perverted. But that's just me - to each her own! ;)

What is the bikin touch trimmer? Is it basically just a trimmer like the one I use? But maybe smaller?

As Seen On TV:

You can get it at Wal-Mart  or online... The Bikini Touch Trimmer. Good thing, yipyip. If you get it online, comes with a ton of accessories and extra heads, so prolly a better deal to purchase online.

I use the Venus razor too...and soap.

I prefer good ole Dove bar soap...works well...no real razor problems...

and I've been shaving for years now...I love the way it feels. Doesn't feel pediphilic (sp?) to me...cuz I do it for me...and I've always just done it for me.

Plus with my skin the way it is...it's much more comfortable.

I have to shave everyday though...otherwise I get yucky stubble. Gross.

I have been shaving myself bare as a 5 year old since I was about 15. Having hair down there just ITCHES and drives me NUTS!!!!
Shane hates it! At least I think he does. He made a comment once that I "really didn't need to do that", but I told him that if I don't I'm itchy and uncomfortable (and my twat really doesn't need to look like Little Orphan Annie!) and he never said anything else. So I don't know.

I use the Venus Divine and my ordinary bodywash (Moonlight something or other from the Body Shop) afterwards I use Bikini something to prevent bumpies.

waxing my eyebrows hurts worse unless I'm very DRY (skin wise)... i have to exfoliate and moisturize HEAVILY for about two weeks before a waxing.

Hahah I love this place!!!

I shave with an electric razor...everything. It's just comfortable.

I've never seen a guy shaven! Do guys typically shave the whole genital region or just the walnuts? I like semi-hairy men..mmmm the mild chest hair, hairy arm pits, hairy legs, and I kinda like them having hair down south. It's manly. Yummy!

Then I had to listen to him bitch and moan about how it itches. LOL...welcome to my world.

I like it nice and trim down there with him though. Makes things nice and pleasant. *grin*

Besides...i hate getting hairs in my mouth!!!

OK WHILE WOMEN as they age, turn a darker color in the genital region. (after child birth esp)... MEN do not. therefore once past a certain age, no matter how you shave it, wax it, or trim it WOMEN's genitals will not look like a young girl.

I like shaved balls. I prefer the rest of the pubic hair trimmed but visible....because otherwise it just looks too childlike for me.

Okay, I have had some amazinly BAD experience shaving. I went and got the bikini trimmer. SUCKS. Sorry, Phos. I hate it. Not nearly as close of a shave as I like.

Anyways. I use the Gillette Mac3 razors and I have terrible sensitive skin and the deoderant does work. But, I found another cream that works WONDERS, although it does sting a bit right after a shave. Worth it though. The product is NeoStrata 10% glycolic acid. No bumps, not red rashy ugliness and best of all...no yucky ingrowns.

As for you men..........PLEASE DON'T SHAVE. Gross. Yucky, feminine. I don't like it. Some of the ladies here will not agree but, for me? NO!!

I mean a few stray hairs on the boys themselves but.........not enough to shave and they are finer than the pubic hairs and don't get caught;) As for the up top hair? Just comb them out and then you don't get any fall offs. KWIM?

I can't help this thought, but what happens if the boys develope an ingrown? My god, I don't even have balls but I think mine just sucked up at the thought of an ingrown.

well you know most girls have hair long before 12 you have hair BEFORE You start your period. My 13 year old thinks shaving is gross and I don't know many YOUNG girls who are able to shave their armpits or legs much less their pubic hair.

i'm a waxer but it never would have occured to me at 12. unless I was involved with a PEDOPHILE and he encouraged it.

What a funny thread. Yeah, I started shaving before I had sex. I think it's because I was curious and when I had sex with my boyfriend, he wasn't like "Ooo, I like it" or "Oh, I don't like it." I don't shave everyday, but only when I feel like it. Haha.

I later found out that my boyfriend does like it all clean, but in general. I don't think he'd be totally turned off if I had "some" hair. He thinks it's hot. I guess he likes seeing what's going on.

Though I have been tempted to tell him to maybe "trim" around the area. But it's such a sensitive thing to bring up, you know? I don't know if he has ever trimmed, but it wouldn't hurt.
