What do you think?

Nope. There is plenty of evidence to prove that case, too.

I think the only kind of people who get "addicted" to it are people who have addictive personalities. In all my experience and with all the stoners I've known, no one has ever suffered withdrawal of any kind. Might jones a little ~ as in... "Dude, I'd love to catch a buzz right about now... "

But, having been an on and off partaker through the course of my life, I can completely vouch for not ever having any issue with either having it or not having it. I've gone periods of years not smoking and not given two hoots about it... and I know people who were 3-4 times a day smokers who just up and quit cuz they got sick of wastin' their cash on it. You know, growin' out of that phase. *shrug*

I'm actually surprised at how long its been since I've even THOUGHT about catchin' a buzz. Sweet.

I definately don't think it is...

I've partaken on several occasions (my first college roommate was an intelligent pothead) and I can take it or leave it.

I've never tried it. But based on friends experiences I would say it's not addictive.

I've tried it a couple of times and I dont think it's addictive. At least not addictive for me.

I used to smoke a whole bunch of dope. Now my budgeting priorities are in a totally different place. But no, there were no withdrawal symptoms or anything like that. You can pretty much put it down and not pick it up again.

Cigarettes...now those are hard...

Never smoked it.
Actually I'm such a "goody two-shoes" it'll make you sick! I don't drink (except wine) I don't smoke and I've never taken an illigeal drug (though did test positive for opiates from a poppyseed muffin in high school!!)
Both of my brothers were addicts by the time they were 15, and they started by smoking pot. My big issue, is that it may not be addictive, however it is a "gateway drug". And can often lead to using more potant and addictive drugs.

I do love hemp as a material though!
and have to point out that George Washington owned a hemp plantation!

i think it can be a gateway drug. I do not think it has to be.

i do think there is such a thing as an addictive personality.

i remember OMG 16 years ago when i moved into this house. It was spring and I was drinking Peach Schnapps in Ice TEA (which is VERY GOOD BTW)...

except i starteed out with one stadium cup a day and by the time I realized I had a PROBLEM (i was at work and it was about 3 pm and all I could think of was what time did I get off so I could go home and drink my peachy tea) I was drinking 3 or 4 STADIUM CUPS full of peach schnapps and tea A NIGHT.

haha I had a firend in high school who told me he knew how many times he'd smoked it... I asked him, expecting him to say, like, 11. And he said 291.

He said he couldnt help but keep track!

I never have done it. I don't think it's PHYSICALLY addicting, i.e. your body calls for it and you go through detox without it... but I think it can be emotionally addicting, as some of my friends depend on it for happiness.

My boyfriend used to be a huge pothead... now he hates all drugs and anything that could be at all harmful to the body. He said he just decided one day...

wine is alcoholic, though, my dear! That would be "drinking"

yes, wine is alcholic, you gotta drink an aweful lot to get drunk (unless you are my mother!) and studies prove that a glass of red wine every evening is good for your ticker! I'm partial to Syrah an Pinot, and like the Central Coast wines better than anything up north!

ohh I like wine!

Me too Me too!!!

But we don't drink here...cuz Alec is an alcoholic (hasn't had a drink in 10 years) so...I feel it's better not to keep it in the house.

Now that doesn't mean that if I'm out with friends I won't indulge!!! And when he had to go to VA for work for two days...I sure did drink a bottle of wine by myself! :D

Somedays I miss it...but for the most part I never was a big drinker...so it's not a big deal.

we are such NON-drinkers that my open bottle of tequila EVAPORATED....

brian (all 6 '4" 400 pounds of him) likes mudslides... no one calls him WUSSY BOY to his face but i've had some comments in bars about 'what kind of wussy boy drinks mudslides' when i go to the bar to get one for him... till he stands up and I point to THE LARGEST TATTOOED PIERCED LEATHER COVERED MAN IN THE BAR... and they say "oh never mind, can I pay for his drink?"
