MUNCHIES

I didn't really know where else to post this...

Any of you all ever had any luck with any type of dietary supplements that control hunger/cravings? I am not really talking about pills to 'lose weight'....just anything that helps with curbing appetite -- or maybe something that has that as a side-effect that isn't so well known?

I have no idea WHY, but for the last month or so it's like my appetite can't hardly be satisfied....I get the munchies in the afternoons at work around 2ish and then in the evenings when I am at home, studying or something (or on the net LOL).....It's like one of those things where even though you KNOW you aren't really hungry, and you SHOULDN'T eat something, but you do anyway. Anyone know what I'm talkin about? Or have any suggestions?

The only thing that seems to help somewhat is exercising....and I not been able to do as much of that lately with everything that's been goin on. But other than that, I haven't correlated this to anything else....

UUGH...so frustrating!

I would go see your doctor. It may have something to do with your thyroid, or the part of your brain that suppresses hunger.

Yeah, I was thinking I might need to see the doctor about it because it's strange. I DO feel hungry even though I shouldn't be -- I guess that is the best way to put it. I do get the cravings and mentally feel like I 'need' to eat something -- even though maybe I just had a meal. It's driving me nuts. Within the last 2 years I have lost about 90 pounds and now that I am back to my "normal" I don't want to be having problems like this ya know? I don't want anything to throw me off track. I felt like I had everything under control until all of this started.

The only other thing I can think of is that I started taking birth control almost 2 months ago. Would that cause any of this you think?

GRRR...

What are your eating habits like? Some docs recommend eating six small meals a day as opposed to be three big ones. It will help you better distribute your blood sugar throughout the day so that you don't crave as much junk.

BINGO! I bet the birth control has something to do with it...seriously, ask your doctor and do some research. I bet that's your answer right there.

I'm really bad about eating actual MEALS... I usually get lunch in most days but breakfast and dinner aren't usually 'meals' most days....

the thing is though that I've been fine with it for the last two years...haven't been hungry or anything...

maybe it is the birth control -- I'm not taking it for the birth control aspects so I guess I could try to get off it and take something else **sigh**

maybe that will make things better :)
