Favorite TV Shows... (Current ones)

I'm a finicky TV watcher and don't like to spend ALL my time gettin' caught up in too many shows, but there are a few that have "snagged" me. Share your lists, peeps!

These are my DVR events ~ gotta record 'em all and watch 'em every new episode:

Surface
John Doe
Stargate SG-1
Stargate Atlantis
Avatar the Last Airbender

Right now, that list is in order, too, of favorites. Surface season 1 was absolutely KICK BUTT. The season finale was a major  WHOAH AWESOME. I absolutely loved the insurance guy Richard Connelly, played by Jay Ferguson... his fight scenes were so incredibly realistic. I mean, they were like REAL people fighting... so screwed up and awkward and not FAKE lookin' AT ALL. You know, how the dork who really isn't any kind of fighter gets into it with someone and its SO OBVIOUS they have no real fighting skills and yet, somehow they manage to do the most screwed up thing to win and it's such a  to watch... and the kid who plays Miles is also AWESOME. I'm so into that show and REALLY hope there will be a Season 2, cuz it ROCKS.

John Doe is also very fascinating. The premise is basically this guy washes up on some shore and has absolutely NO memory of who he is... but somehow, he pretty much knows everything and its all about him trying to find ANY clue as to who the hell he is! I love it. It's a really neat show.

While I've been a Stargate junkie for a couple years now, and I know its kinda hokey in that SG-1 always comes out kickin' at the end of the show and its pretty much formulaic in how its created, it manages to keep me gripped in the longer picture of how the stories are developing. Same goes for Atlantis. And its really hard not to just love certain characters.

As for Avatar. I pretty much don't like any cartoons, cept old Looney Tunes and whatnot, because 99% of it is just CRAP. Avatar sucked me in like nothing else. It's really one of THE ABSOLUTE best cartoons I've ever had the pleasure of watching and I eagerly await the new ones coming out. It's in no way stupid. It's deep, well thought out, creative, well animated, and the characters are highly developed. The humor is great, too. It crosses the generational divide. My 5 year old loves it. My 10 year old loves it. Me and Litical LOVE it. If you haven't seen it, I HIGHLY recommend it... it's just plain beautifully done.

Not many shows I make it a point to watch.
The Apprentice
Family Guy
Bad Girls
My Name is Earl
I've seen every season of The Apprentice. I love Family Guy. The first time Family Guy was on Fox, I never watched it. I caught up with it on Adult Swim and now I try to watch it on Fox every Sunday. Bad Girls is on BBCAmerica, it's about an English womens' prison. My Name is Earl just cracks me up. I use to be a diehard Law&Order and SVU fan, but I trailed off watching those shows....they got too redundant I guess.

 Poll! Family Guy is a great show and cracks me up, especially the exchanges between Brian and the little dictator. ;) I don't make a point to go out of my way to watch it or DVR it, but when it's on, I laugh my butt off.

I forgot another one I do watch anytime it happens to be on:
Myth Busters

I'm ashamed to admit that I'm a big sucker for teen soaps so I watch "7th Heaven" and "One Tree Hill". Guess I don't get enough drama in real life! :D

P.S. I also watch "The Apprentice" whenever it's on. Anyone know if there's a new season this year?

Don't really watch anything religiously, but I like House, MD. How can a cranky, limp guy appeal to me so much??

I just got channels on my TV. My friend brought me some bunny ears because she felt that I just "wasn't normal" http://www.clicksmilies.com/s0105/spezial/jasons_smilie/rolleyes4.gif without TV. Before I would only us my TV when I rented movies.

So last night I watched Grey's Anatomy and I liked it. But that's it so far.

Proud to admit I occasionally watch and always seem to enjoy: OPRAH, Frontline (for a rather unbiased, seemingly realistic account of what's going on in the world)This Old House, The Daily Show, South Park, and eh, sometimes..Will and Grace.

And yes, I peruse Soap Opera Digest in the checkout aisle to see what's new on Days of our Lives...laim, I know, but what are ya gonna do?

I love the news to find out what's happening, but all too often I find myself feeling totally depressed and completely helpless

I forgot to mention American Experience. That's a great show. I was watching it tonight about the PFLP hijacking those planes in the 70s and I saw that a guy that works in our Union...his wife produced it. I knew she used to produce stuff for CNN, but I had no idea she was working for PBS. Pretty cool!

Oh yeah...and the 6 channels of Law and Order. If the Law and Orders all went off TV at once, I'd die of withdrawal.

I'm enjoying the heck out of The 4400, but I'm pretty predictable. If it's science fiction, I'm bound to enjoy it. I miss Surface. :( Bummed, big time, about it being canceled. Monday nights on Sci-Fi are now Dark Angel night ~ 4 episodes back to back.

I loved season one, but was disappointed with season 2. Max and Logan were not sposta "get together" ~ in the same way that Mulder and Scully had that lovely sexual tension... them "getting together" marked the end of the X-Files, as it should have.

But The 4400 keeps getting more interesting all the time. :D

I'm not a big fan of reality TV. I watch a lot of comedy which drives my SO crazy sometimes. "Can we watch something serious?!" My response, "We just watched the news! Time for some laughter!"

I like:

The Sopranos
Family Guy
Grey's Anatomy
It's Always Sunny in Philidelphia
The SO digs Boston Legal

I'm hoping the fall lineup brings us some good sitcoms or dramas. I will watch some reality TV like the auditions for "American Idol". Those are usually hilarious.

I watched the Family Guy for the first time last night....two episodes, back to back....I had to finally watch that show because my good buddy Poll thinks that's how all Rhode Islanders are. LOL!!!!

I've watched Boston Legal a few times and I've always liked it every time. I'm not sure why I don't watch it regularly. It must conflict with work or something else that's on.

I like the different Law and Order shows, and I usually watch Medium.

I'll admit it....I'm an American Idol addict. I used to just watch the crazy audition shows. But this last season I was hooked.

And I loved West Wing. I was sorry to see it end. I'm going to check out the new show by the same producers that's starting this Fall. Matthew Perry and Bradley Whitford are in it. It looks like it might be good.

Right now I can't think of any sitcom that bowls me over....
