missymissus 02-21-2006, 12:02 PM Just wondering if anyone else out there is into this.
My sister-in-law has gotten all her brother's wives into it, and as the newest one, they've gotten me into it as well. Recently my mom decided she wanted to start scrapbooking as well. So, I'm wondering if this new fad is just over here or if anyone else out there does this to.
Momma Nessa 02-21-2006, 12:07 PM i do the stickers... in my planner... but that's as close as i get
jesique 02-21-2006, 01:25 PM K...I'll confess...
I'm a scrapbooking nerd. I'm not as overboard as I've seen some people (my mom for example)
I prefer to use a lot of low budget materials...construction paper for one...and my imagination. I also like to put a lot of things on one page...where as most scrapbookers tend to just put like 3 or 4 pics on a page.
I'm lazy about it though. I'm still trying to scrapbook my 7 months at Disney...and I lived there almost 3 years ago! :D

Emzak 02-21-2006, 03:35 PM I love scrapbooking! It's just hard to find the time. I still haven't done my wedding album and it's been 8 months.
I like scrapbooking but don't really do it. I know I will probably be more into it when we have kids:) Most of my H.S. girlfriends do it...and I somehow ALWAYS get roped into going to their cropping parties and doing theirs for them???
Last year there was a big scrapbooking convention in town, I talked Griffin into taking me because we were running errands in that part of town when I saw the sign...he agreed. When we got there the woman at the ticket booth told us "men are free" because they don't have many and as a matter of fact Griffin was the only man there that day...He was probably so embarrassed...but he likes helping me pick out rubber stamps...which I am TOTALLY obsessed with...it's sad. I can't stop buying them off e-bay it's nuts:rolleyes:
fos4snt 02-21-2006, 05:56 PM Ummm... I don't really do traditional scrapbooking... although, sometimes I will do them for gifts for other people. Like, when my son's Dad and I split, I put together a big ole scrap book of photos of his boys first 4 years of life. He cried.
Recently, I did one of the early years of our family ~ my folks as kids, when they got married, and just their kids ~ no grandkids or anything... for my Mom for X-mas.
I do photo albums for people periodically. You know, gifting my photography skills for special events, but I refuse to do it for money, cuz that screws everything up for me... *shrug*
But I don't have diddily squat of my family or kids or anything I've done for me. Same way with my ART. I just don't ever feel inspired to do art for ME. That's like the most selfish use of the muse there is... *smacks self and walks away*

the other book was a 'book' painting I did last year w/lots of my figure drawings in it
missymissus 02-21-2006, 08:42 PM At least I'm not the only one :)
I havent done very much of it, but I'm trying to start doing it NOW so I dont end up with 25 years worth of stuff like my mom.
So far, I've done alittle bit of our trip and alittle bit of the random everyday pictures we have. I havent even started doing a wedding book for us yet. My sil is a creative genius, so hopefully some of that will rub off and I'll be able to get some done.

Geez, you should hook up with my cousin, you're a scrapbooking machine.
ReiRei 02-21-2006, 10:23 PM Scrapbook is so much fun! I haven't done it in a while though...it takes a lot of time and money...although I guess I could of done it lately since i"m stuck at home sick. But I love showing off my a page after I'm done with it :D
Um... That's not scrapbooking as craft/hobby. That's scrapbooking as fine art. Those are incredible.
I agree . . . those are amazing GS!!!
chikygrl13 02-23-2006, 05:00 AM GS~~ WOW!!!! That's INCREDIBLE!!!
I like scrapbooking, if I had the time, the inclination and the money!
It's frustrating, I can see it all in my head, but it never comes out the way I want it too. Such is art I guess.
Right now I'm working on a scrapbook of my Paris trip for the Prof. that took us. (I'm going to see him at a conference in San Antonio in April)
missymissus 02-23-2006, 03:07 PM Those are really great pages.
My creativity is just not to that level. My brother-in-law and his family gave me a gift certificate to a scrapbook store for my birthday, so I just went and bought a whole bunch of stuff (Its amazing how much stuff there is). Maybe having something to work with will get me to make some progress on the book of our trip or wedding.

I agree...you should teach classes you know what you're doing *nods*
