Yes, I drink tap water but I have a Brita filter as a temporary fix.

One of these days, I will install my real solid carbon filter, which is sitting gathering dust. Now, that is a real filter. I am determined that this Saturday, I will install this filter. I may have to buy tons of tools but I will do it. It is a do or die situation for me. :)

Well, I'm on well water and hell yeah I drink it. It tastes good and I know its safe (been tested). It has all sorts of healthy minerals in it and is filtered. I also have a Brita, which we don't use very much.

I grew up in Reston, VA. That was the first place in the country where the county water was Flouridated. It was a test program, before they started doing it elsewhere. I swear, there is something in THAT water which caused nearly 50% of the men who grew up in Reston to be WAY off mentally... so many of my old HS friends ended up institutionalized or are still freeloadin' off the parents. It's really sad, but so many of them are mentally imbalanced, from mildly to severely.

With that said, it didn't seem to affect the women AT ALL. Except that I can still go to a dentist and have them ask me outright, "Did you grow up in Reston, per chance?" Ahhhh... yeah, why? "Cuz you have the strongest, whitest teeth I've seen and the only people who seem to have them grew up in Reston."

I even had about four different people I ran into in LA ask me outright, "You from Reston?" WTF? Yeah, I am!!! How did you guess THAT? Cuz you got BIG BRIGHT white teeth and NO accent. ROFLAO.

Us Restonite's sure do have a "reputation."

MMMmmm....Tap water. Yum!

Sure we drink it. I like mine with ice...and Alec likes it room temp.

I read a report that too many kids are drinking bottled water nowadays....and it's not so good for their teeth.

Well. All I drink is water... and TONS of it.

Like, probably 20 glasses a day.

I drink 5-8 with each meal.

Doctors have examined me to try to figure out why the hell i am so weird.

Nothing.

So bottled water would be too much of an investment.

We do use a Brita but thats it.

No way. Tap water is pretty nasty in some areas of Colorado. (Commerce City? Blech!!! Tastes like sewer.) I only drink bottled water or brita, or something that has been filtered. Ew.

Well, nothing could be worse than the tap water in Martinsburg, WVA. Oh dear GOD, that stuff tastes and smells worse then SEWER water.

I won't get anything in a restaurant there that doesn't come in a CAN or a BOTTLE. Yuckness.

I think the Army used to keep a lab with Ebola monkeys in Reston. Who knows what'll enter the neighborhood next.

They sure did, Poll. Very observant. ;) I work about 5 minutes walking distance from where that building USE to be. It sat vacant/abandoned until about 2 years ago. It was leveled. The lot was dug about 6' down and the dirt was hauled off. A new building was built slightly off the property near it.

Growing up, we had Collies. You know, of the Lassie variety. Both of them ended up with serious skin diseases, wherein they literally ATE their fur off and had weird, bubbly, nasty rashes from eating their own skin raw. It was terrible to watch and we had to have both dogs put down rather early in life.

The vet said it was something to do with the water in the area because of the Old Virginia Distillery (which is now gone and Sallie Mae sits on its former property) and its chemical run off seeping into the ground water. Collies, specifically, were affected within a 20 mile radius of said Distillery.

Geez, Phos....do you think your allergies might have something to do with where you grew up? That's awful!!

Skibunny.....I wish I loved water like you do. I can't bring myself to drink it plain unless I'm actually feeling hot (ie. working out or hiking, running). I drink herbal tea instead. I think it's mostly cause I'm always so cold...can't stand the thought of drinking cold water.

Fluoride in tap water is good for teeth, but nasty for your overall health. Chlorine is no so good either, and I don't like the idea of ingesting microscopic dead bacteria killed by it either.

I drink tap water at home, but it's from a deep well, and it's great water. I'll drink tap water (if I'm thirsty) at restaurants, and at friends houses. But, if I was on city water again, I'd use a brita filter (one that screws onto the tap is great).

I think bottled water sucks...except for Perrier with some fresh lemon.

mmmm sometimes i drink water just because i am bored and there's nothing else to do. Going up, getting a glass of water, and drinking it fills up a good 30 seconds
