My Dad does this whole Sunday rigamarole, which is absolutely.. AMAZING. It is my church. I haven't been in months, but he called me tonight to ask what time we'd be there. YAY!!!

This is the breakdown of his Sunday extravaganza:

Cream Chip Beef (SOS)
Home made Biscuits
Bacon
Sometimes Sausage, too
Eggs with ham and cheese
Fried potatoes with red bell peppers and onions
Fried apples, southern style
And a dish of spring onions, radishes, red peppers and tomato slices.
Water, Coffee and OJ all on the side.

Everything is arranged perfectly and he puts together his plate very meticulously, almost like its an art project, before he'll take a bite.

And while I didn't grow up with fancy vacations or sunday school, we had this EVERY Sunday morning. When I was in college, I would drive up 100 miles every other weekend to attend this feast. :D This is the first time he's invited me, Litical and the kids in over 2 months. In fact, I was missing it so much, last weekend I cut up my own apples and made my own fried apples to compensate for the LONGING to go back to the church of my youth.

OH DANG Dad, THANK YOU!!! *sighs deep sigh of relief and appreciation*

Phos, that breakfast is awesome. And the fact that your dad still invites you home for it is even better. You've got a great family and I'm jealous!

Breakfasts in my family were never anything special...oatmeal...every flippin day. Mom would make a big pot first thing in the morning, and the sooner you got up the better, because after being on the stove for an hour or more, it would be a sticky goopy, gluey mess.

Once in a while on Christmas day, my sister or myself would make strawberry crepes.

Now, breakfast has taken on a whole new meaning when I stay at my BFs. He loves making me breakfast, sometimes he brings it to me in bed and other times we make it together. But, it's always so yummy. Typically, it's egg-based: an omlette or scrambled eggs with sundried tomatoes or whathaveyou with toast, a bagel or with cheese on an english muffin. And he serves basil and cilantro on the side with tomato. And, sometimes also a fruit salad. Yummmmm.

And we make banana pancakes too. I've been meaning to make crepes one of these days. With strawberries, chocolate sauce and whipped cream.

Yeah, I love food! :D

WOW... those sound GREAT, Annie. :D *rubs tummy* I love food, too. Breakfast has always been my favorite.

I sometimes make this weird conglomeration here...

Cut a hole in a piece of bread. Fry both with an egg in the middle. Flip ~ over easy. And in a separate dish, make a salsa with tomatos, onions, garlic, basil and oregeno and put that on top with bacon on the side. YUM!!

Strawberry crepes... *drool*

I will, sweetie! :D I am SO looking forward to it. It's been so long!! WAY too long!

After tonights GLORIOUS Litical made dinner and tomorrow's breakfast, I'm gonna have a bit of a belly, me thinks. ;) Litical made a roast beef with a shitake mushroom, garlic, basil, cilantro, oregeno, paprika, rosemary and a little bit of worsteshire sauce for a glaze. OH deliciousness. Along with a potato and chick pea side dish and a salad! WHOO.

*dances for glorious food*
