I thought it'd be nice if we introduced ourselves "officially" on this thread to benefit those who are new to the site.

I'm 28 and Hubby is 49. We've been together for 3 years and married for 7 months. :)

I'm Nadine and my beautiful boyfriend Alec is 44 and I'm 23.

We're pretty normal....not to many problems...a little kinky. *grin*

We've been together for about 2.5 years. We met when I was 21 and was interning at the TV station he worked at.

We don't have any major problems... families accept us, neither of us gets paranoid... we just like to argue quite a bit cuz we live together and dont get enough sleep and are stubborn

I'm 25, my fiance is 58, about to turn 59. We've been together for over 4 years, and we've been living together for all but 6 months of that.

My family is pretty supportive of the relationship. I'm not entirely close to them, but when I got around to introducing him to them, they absolutely loved him. I wasn't so conviced they'd be happy about the engagement, but when I told them, they were! So that's cool...

His family of origin is wonderful and very supportive, but his kids are just...NOT happy with the whole thing. That's the only thing we really ever argue about. We're both really quirky people, so people that know us think we have a really quirky relationship. Which I guess is true.

My fiance I'd have to say, is the most facinating, intruiging and intelligent person I've ever met.

Im a busy single mom of 3, 2 still at home. I very much love life, Im pretty passionate about anything Im involved in. Mostly thats been my kids for oh...about the last 20 years! Its nice now for me, because my kids are old enough now that Im starting to go out and enjoy myself without all the worries and having "youngins" in the home.

I have been with my BF for a year and a half. I am 22 and he is 48. There is a 25 1/2 year difference between us, but we don't even notice it. My family is not very supportive. But the main thing is that we are happy. He and I get along great and I love him very much.

I started dating my OM about 2 years ago and married him a month ago tomorrow. I just turned 20 last week and he turned 50 on New Years day. We dont have any real problems other than we're both alittle quirky. My family is fairly supportive of the relationship, and all of his family besides his daugther in law also seems to be supportive.

We live in different states but not too terribly far away so we see eachother about once a week or every other week. It isn't tooooo bad! We hope to be changing that in the near future but we'll have to see how that goes.

Actually, I don't mind being the age I am....they really sneak up on you, and everyone who is younger than us will realize that when they get there.....what bothers me is not having what I want in my life....

Every year since I turned 25, I've looked at my life.....I've analyzed the choices I've made.....I've looked at where I am....and I've determined if I'm happy at that point in time or not....there have been times when I've been very happy and satisfied, and there have been times when I've been miserable. At 25, I was miserable....at 40, I was ecstatic. At both ages things in my life were tragic...a divorce and a death.....but by the time I turned 40, I knew how happy I was to be alive....I continued to grieve for almost 10 years later, but I came out on the other side....

Now I'm analyzing again. I'm looking at where my life is. I'm looking at where I want it to go....and even though I know I'm getting older, I look at my life and what I want as if I'm going to live forever.

Maybe I'm just a foolish, silly woman....

Thanks for the warm welcome everyone. Your right Trish, age does sneak up on you and it seems the older you get the faster it sneaks ;) but Im not ready to have the dirt tossed on me yet.
The one thing I do like about being my age is that I finally learned a few things and quit making the same mistakes over and over. I guess that can happen at 30 too, but I was a slow learner:rolleyes:

most important things in my life ,next to my relationship,are animals ,be it wildlife or domestic animals.

Just realized I hadn't posted here to date, after arriving at the site a few weeks ago.

I was Kathyw on Ageless, and was banned from the site back in January (still don't know the reason why...but that's neither here nor there).

I was the Chatroom Moderator on Ageless for quite awhile and also contributed many articles/postes over a two and a half year period of time...so as not to dwell on the past, of which I can not understand or change, I shall move on here. :rolleyes: ;)

I am very happy to have found Mind The AgeGap..all of my favorite people are here..and I've met several new people I'm pretty fond of also. :)

Just wanted to say a big hello to all. I found out about this site through the iVillage forums, which I read from time to time.

Having only just arrived, I haven't had enough time to check out everything but so far it looks like an interesting site.

I recently remarried, the ceremony being held in February this year. My wife, Farnoush, I met three years ago on a transAtlantic flight. We corresponded for some time before becoming bf/gf, then engaged and now married. She never had a problem with our age difference but I was trepidicious at first. But now, I see that the age difference matters so little in comparison to other relationship aspects such as love, support, caring, etc. She is my true soulmate. The only wrinkle (that will sort itself out in a couple years) is that we have a long distance marriage -- she lives in Montreal and I in Toronto. But two years will go quickly then we can look forward to living a normal life together.

I have never been in a forum/chat group before, but sought out one like this because I have no one with whom to discuss my relationship. I'm a married 62-yr-old in a relationship with a 27-yr-old. This is so-o-o Jerry Springer and something I would never have expected. Not meaning to bore you with details, but she is a mother of four small children and living with the father of her twins (a troubled past). "The Broken Road" from country music is her love song to me. From when we connected, we both felt like we were "home" with each other. From our first discussion of a relationship, I was adament that I would never leave my wife and family. She recognized that she did not want to lose her "husband" either. Her life is one crisis after another. Most of what I am to her is a respite--a trip to the zoo, a museum exhibit--when we can find the stolen time together. We talk about our families, politics, and whatever crosses our minds. The age difference is not a problem, particularly since marriage is not on the table. We get a laugh out of our age difference and enjoy explaining our separate generation's views on things. I have to say, though, we like people to see us together (whenever we can get away) and speculate what they might be thinking.

Didnt speak anything else. But we felt like we know each other for so long! We felt comfortable to each other. After some distance we had in this new year (for about 3 months) due to my family restiriction, i finally encourage myself to see him again in mid March. Complicated? You can't imagine. That was a real concern when we were considering doing this or not. But we also understand that we "do" when we can, and we "don't" when we can't. She says that's what is good about older men (they're not boys)--they know and accept when other things have a priority. (Her "spouse" is 50). I understand she has a husband with problems and very small children who are her priority. She had weeks of sick little kids (stomach virus circulating in our area) and never looked more beautiful to me then once standing in her kitchen with wearing a freshly-puked-on t-shirt. Yet, we give each other what is missing from our first lives.

Hi people...how interesting so many migrated here from ageless. (Nafadda, you are a blast from the past!) I became a member at ageless about 5 years ago when in a previous international AGR (he was 15 years younger)...I made peace with any age gap questions long ago but still find it interesting to watch the social tension around AGRs where the woman is significantly older.

The wonderful honey I have now is 13 years younger (I'm 42, he's 29) and we plan to marry later this year. I can't say enough about how awesome a partner he is. We met in early '03 so have been together 3+ years. Life with him is smooth and so comforting...it's the best thing ever and I wish I'd had something this good earlier in life. Ah well, it's ok...having it now is fabulous enough. :D

So - someone on ageless mentioned "other" sites and out of curiosity I went looking and found this, with its many familiar names. Score one more for the OW/YM side of the member list...

Where to begin...well before my reputation precedes me...
Sally 50 (YIKES) with Fotophella 35 for nearly 6 years.

Spent the first 2 years of my AGR wringing my hands and trying to over analyze it...joined AL and spent the next 6 months ANALYZING IT TO DEATH... and believing what the boobs there said held any weight. Got over that.

On the other hand...when I was 27, I had close to a 3 year solid relationship with a 50 year old man....and we kept in touch on a "fling" basis for the next 10. Naughty, naughty girl...anaylyzed that one to death too.

At 30 I linked up with another muscian for nearly 10 years. He was 7 years younger then me...but funny, I never deemed it an AG...at all.

So I've been on both sides of this fence.

Over the years I have learned one most valuable lesson...just be yourself. (what else is there?)

All relationships are a gamble at best. All you can do is give your best. (or mind fuck them and take them hostage...like some individuals at AL...LMAO!)

My name is Eric... Lets see... I am 43 and I am a career Coastie (Coast Guard). I've been in the CG for 25 years... and am going for 30 and one more promotion. I've never lived anywhere in my life for over 5 years (and that was just once)... because I was an Army brat before I joined the CG. I have 2 boys and a little girl...

When I was enlisted.. I was a Fire Control Technician... the guy who watches a radar and finds, targets and fires the guns at the bad guy. Sorta like playing a big video game but with real results :P I reached the rank of E-8 before I became a Warrant Officer in the Weapons Specialty and thats what I currently am (WEPS3). That was my main job throught my career.. there were many collateral jobs... I was a rescue swimmer (Go see the movie "The Guardian") for awhile... and an emergency medical technician for awhile. Oh and I was a boarding officer... for drug and migrant interdiction. And my current job is program management for all the larger weapon systems we have..

I've been to ALOT of places.. most notably.. Spain... all over the caribbean, hawaii, alaska, canada, mexico. columbia, some western pacific islands.. every US state except Maine.. and most of the western european countries

I'm StuggliesWife. I've been married to the Stugglie Muffin for a little over 6 years but have been with him for 7 and known him for 8.

I just turned 37. He is 49. Not as much as a gap as most of you but still has it's issues.

We have 2 children together. Our Son is 5 (he is our special needs son. He's a riot and we adore him) and our daughter is 3. (She's a pretty spoiled princess because she is MY only daughter)

I have 2 children from my previous marriage. They live with us. Two boys ages 16 and 11.

He has 5 children from his previous marriage. They visit on occasion and live across the country from us.
They are aged 25,24,22,19 and 15 -the oldest is married and has 3 children with a 4th on the way. The 22 yr old daughter has a child and he lives with us while she gets her life together. He is 1.

I did meet my husband online at a church related chat room. I tried to hook him up wth my oldest sister (who is 7 months younger than he is) but it was a no go. He kept saying he wanted me. I finally, reluctantly, met him and we never looked back.

nah, she isn't jealous. She wasn't interested. I was trying to get him to go her way because of the age gap! :p

just wanted to say hi....I was lurking for a while after finding this site....I'm not in an age gap relationship at the moment but I have only ever gone out with guys younger than me, just the way its happened actually.....the biggest gap was a long term relationship with a 20 year gap, since then I've had another where the guy was 10 years younger.

I'm looking forward to getting to know people and having some interesting conversations with you all...ciao

Just noticed this thread! I'm new and trying to get used to the format and the variety of this forum!

I stumbled onto this site yesterday whilst trying to find *any* sort of positive advice about age gap relationships, as I'm involved in a LDR with a wonderful man. We've spent quite a bit of time together recently, but we're taking it slow. He's (almost) 54, I'm 27. My mother (and many family members and friends) aren't too thrilled. We met through mutual friends on a message board and became very close. It's interesting how relationships that begin on the internet are kind of like eating an apple core-first...

I'm glad to be here, and I think my OM (I'm picking up on the lingo already!) might join as well quite soon. :)
