The Story of MTaG

As for my latest project, MTaG continues to be my focus. I have a lot of great things planned for it that I am very excited about, such as the new Greetings forum. Also, MTaG is growing to a point where I may have to switch servers soon.
How did you come to idea of creating MTaG, Em? What's the story of MTaG?

How did you come to idea of creating MTaG, Em? What's the story of MTaG?
Once upon a time, there was a kingdom in a galaxy far, far away. It was ruled by a group of Lords and Ladies who called themselves "Super Moderators". They were good people, except they cared way too much about their appearances.

One day, they heard about a special shop that sold the finest clothing in the most beautiful cloth. The shop owner was a swindler and told them that this cloth had a special capability--it was invisible to anyone who was stupid or uneducated.

Being a bit nervous about whether they themselves would be able to see it, the Super Moderators sent a few of their trusted servants to visit the special shop. Of course, none of them would admit that they could not see the cloth and so they all praised it.

By this time, all the citizens in the kingdom had also heard of the cloth and were interested to find out just how stupid or uneducated their fellow citizens were.

The Super Moderators then allowed themselves to be dressed in the special clothes, never admitting that they were too stupid and uneducated to see what they were wearing (or in this case, NOT wearing). They were afraid that other people would think that they were stupid and uneducated.

Of course, all the citizens praised the magnificent clothes of the Super Moderators. The people were afraid to admit that they could not see these clothes.

Finally, a small group of rebels could not put up with this silly charade any longer.

"The Super Moderators are naked," they protested.

"Be quiet!" said the Super Moderators. "Or we will banish you from the kingdom."

But the rebels persisted. They started printing out posters which they would put up all over the kingdom.

"The Super Moderators have no clothes on!"

"Why aren't the Super Moderators dressed?"

"The Super Moderators are naked--end this charade now!"

The Super Moderators were furious, and as they came across each poster, they yanked it down and burned it. Then they tracked down whoever put up the poster and banished them from the kingdom.

But word had gotten around. The news of the invisible clothing was whispered from person to person until many people in the kingdom began to wonder about the Super Moderators' new clothes.

The Super Moderators reported back to the King and Queen of the kingdom, who ignored the rebels' outcries and ordered the Super Moderators to remain in their special clothes.

Among the rebels who were banished from the kingdom was a young scholar. She decided to go off and start a new colony with the other rebels--a colony where people would be free to speak the truth, but with that freedom would also come the awesome responsibility to be kind and compassionate at all times, even when they disagreed with each other.

The new colony was named "MIND THE age GAP", or "MTaG" for short. Many citizens from the kingdom eventually heard about this new colony and flocked there in search of friends both old and new. And everyone on MTaG lived happily ever after. :)

Not a unique story in the world of internet forums either. That's why I'm on both ok-speed.com and ok-speed.net.

This is a nice remake of a famous fairy-tale that I've read thousand times in childhood - "Naked King", right? You'r awesome, Em. You made a really nice place where all people feel comfortable to express themselves and just be friends :)

I've always heard it as "The Emporer's New Clothes"
but same idea I guess.

I never knew about the other kingdom I was directed here from I don't remember where...

Well, I was given the AXE. The proverbial boot. The kick in the heiny. Told to pack my things and get LOST. BANISHED.... banned... whatever.

Bwahhahahahaa.

No harm, no foul, no loss and I'm happier in the land of Oz then I ever was in Kansas.
