What did you like to read when you were a kid?

Let's see...I remember The Adventures of TinTin, Archie Comics, and Choose Your Own Adventure.

Also Nancy Drew, Hardy Boys, Fabulous Five, Sherlock Holmes, Babysitters Club, and Sweet Valley High (gawd, did I just admit that in public?).

Once, I swiped a copy of my mother's Jackie Collins novel. That's how I learned about sex!

This sounds like what I read...except the babysitters club...that came out after my time.

Add in anything else that was in the house....Moby Dick, Treasure Island, etc...hehe...I even read the bible several times. Yeah, I loved to read too. I was big on Nancy Drew, and also the Trixie Beldon series. And the Narnia series too.

Dr. Suess. ANY and All. Most especially The Sleep Book. I'm STILL majorly addicted to Dr. Suess and thankfully, my kids are, too. NEVER tire of that stuff. :D I also LOVE Sneetches and What Was I Scared Of.

Then there is Stop That Ball and A Fly Went By by Mike McClintock. AWESOME books.

As an older kid, I loved the Velveteen Rabbit and Judy Blume books.

And as a pre-teen, one of my favorites was Catcher in the Rye. I know, apparently most serial killers love that one, too. BWAHAHAHAHAA...

I'm still way too into Dr. Suess for my own good. There just isn't any BETTER children's author out there. Never will be, either.

The Berenstein Bears HANDS DOWN!! I used to stare at the pictures of their tree house and wonder how a whole family of bears could fit inside.

How about all the Richard Scaary books? Lowly worm? Huckle cat?

Steven Kellogg (Pinkerton Behave!!), Chris Van Allsburg (The Polar Express), and Where the Wild Things Are by whats-his-name.

Yeah!

Then of course, the pre-teen years: The Babysitter's Club "Little Sister" series...that girl was such a whiny little brat.

Judy Blume (Superfudge!), Beverly Clearly, and of course...

R.L. STEIN and Christopher Pike! Those books were cheesy, but still great.

Once, I swiped a copy of my mother's Jackie Collins novel. That's how I learned about sex!

Ah yes...the infamous romance novels shoved to the side of my bed that would only come out at night

Oh man....I used to read all of Beverly Clearly's books!

I actually looked like Ramona! One year for a library contest I dressed up like her and made tin-can stilts and totally won a prize! *grin*

Judy Blume of course.

Baby-sitters club, Sweet Valley everything...

Pretty much anything I could get my hands on.

I would ride my bike and read....shower and read...do the dishes and read...I can do it all. *Grin*

My parents would ground me from reading...cuz they knew that if I was just grounded from going outside...I'd just read in my room and be happy as a little clam. LOL.

Nadine.
