There are a lot of new faces around here, people who have shown up since I disappeared a little while back. So I thought I'd reintroduce myself.

I'm Crysania, 31, dating a 43-year-old (soon to be 44-year-old). We've been together for nearly 2 years and things are wonderful. We're both Irish traditional musicians (and met playing in a trad session). I teach music part time and he teaches American history.

Hi! Great avatar. I had no idea your hair is getting so long.

I also want to add that in addition to being a great musician, Crysania is an awesome photographer.

Actually, we have a lot of great photographers on MTaG, like Phossy, Marianna, Enoch, Moon, etc. I'm sure I'm forgetting a ton of people. :o

Welcome back Crysania!

I was in Syracuse a few weekends ago...my mission on this particular visit was to visit Kitty Hoyne's because I remembered that you play there (right?!). I forgot the name of the group that you perform with...but I would have loved to see you perform. Please post more information about your music when you get a chance...i.e. websites, performance dates, etc.

(Also went to Coleman's on Tipperary Hill...it was a Celtic type of visit!)

I love Syracuse!

Emzak...yep, my hair is getting really long. It's just about a half inch above my waist at this point (though I need to get it trimmed so I'll probably cut off around a half inch to inch soon). I never quite realize it's that long until I see pictures of myself! And thanks for the compliment. I love taking photos. I just got a new camera so I've been running around taking tons of them. I'll be going out to Pratts Falls this weekend and I'll be sure to post my photos!

Hellodolly...That's awesome that you were in Syracuse! Did you get over to Kitty's? The group I play with isn't really a band, just a group of people who play in the pub. On their calendar they list us as "Trad session." We play the 2nd and 4th Saturdays of the month from 2-5pm. We won't be playing the 4th Saturday in May though. We'll be in Ireland then!

Trish and Marianna...thanks for the welcome back!!

That's so crazy! I was in Kitty's the Saturday afternoon of Easter weekend. There was a little stage, but it had a huge television on it! The food was delicious...especially the curry fries. Yum :)

Well i'll be up there again very soon....so i'll keep my eye out for "trad session".

The food at Kitty's is wonderful. We've eaten a lot of the stuff of their menu (we get a free meal after our session there). We usually don't play on the stage...we're tucked into a little corner in the back on the other side of the bar.

Did you see the Kitty Hoyne's bodhran above the stage? That was painted by a friend of mine -- we gave it to David (the owner) as a present for Christmas. They're great people there and it's a lovely place.

The curry fries are SO GOOD, though I haven't had them in ages (trying to lose weight and all that).

No I didn't! I can't say I even know a bodhran is. I wish that I had known! I loved the old bar and how it transcended both rooms...the original tin ceiling also added to the overall character of the place. It was just a very cool restaurant.

My good friend loves Celtic music and I want to get him a housewarming gift for his new place. Didn't Nafadda buy a CD of yours at one point? Let me know how I can buy one of your CD's if you get a chance

Hi GF and Blinocac200sx!

A bodhran is an Irish drum...those round frame drums (David has a bunch of them hanging on the wall on that one side of the bar). It's one of the instruments I play and it's so much fun!

If you want to order a CD, contact Mel @ webmistress@neidfyre.com She's the one who handles all of the CD sales (my SO and I just play on the CD, Mel is the main singer/fiddler). And thanks for being interested! I'm happy to be on a CD that people enjoy listening to.

Kitty's has a great atmosphere. The bar area is gorgeous. I like how he has the registers inside hollowed-out antique ones. The place I work at during the day put their system in and did the hollowed-out registers (I work for a company that sells cash register systems). It was a pretty neat idea.

It's quite strange that people saw me on -- I had changed it to invisible but then went back and discovered that everything had been reset.

At any rate, thanks for the welcome back!! :-)
