TV evangelistsEmzak 03-21-2006, 08:04 PM Savior to the masses or pain in the asses? Poll 03-21-2006, 10:10 PM Pain in the asses. But Benny Hinn should be scalped. NASA should study his hair and see if it could heat shield shuttles. jesique 03-21-2006, 10:43 PM Pain in the asses. But maybe good for some. Nadine. Sdoah 03-21-2006, 10:58 PM Some are great and some make me cringe. As a born and raised charismatic/pentecostal you'd think I'd be all up on them, but some of it just reeks of 'send me your money' tactics and I can't tolerate that. On the plus side, there are some great tv evangelists that I really enjoy listening to and they are a tremendous comfort to shut ins and the elderly who can't get out to church. So yeah, a little of both. Good and bad, just like there is good and bad in every walk of life. *shrugs* Shan fos4snt 03-22-2006, 06:44 AM Well, I usually end up feeling nauseous when one of them comes on over at my folks house (when Dad is making Sunday breakfast and the Fox News show he's watching flips over to the evangelist and I can't work the stupid remote there  ) and whining at my mom to change the channel. While not a pain in the ass, its just... nauseating. The constant pleas for more money (hello, check out their pulpits... not like they aren't rolling in it!) I prefer, to be honest, to have mormons, jehovas witnesses and local missionaries come to my house to discuss/debate their religion. THAT is fine, personal, interesting, intriguing. I always tell them I'll never choose, but they are welcome to talk. ;) ~phos auntkitty 03-22-2006, 11:15 PM I don't like most of them. Billy Graham is the only one that I really trust. He has been investigated by non-christians and found to be totally open and honest..... Emzak 03-23-2006, 01:57 PM I've always liked Jehovahs Witnesses too. The ones I've met have all been sincere, down-to-earth people who are truly passionate about their beliefs yet can respect yours at the same time. Nafadda 03-23-2006, 09:38 PM I agree about Billy Graham.I really think he is a good man who believes in what he's saying .Most Tv eveangelists I feel are all showmen, who get found out sooner or later. I must admit I get a real kick out of that Benny Hinn guy,he is really funny, even though he is not trying to be.sometimes I watch him because he makes me laugh and I can't believe people are buying into it. Poll 03-23-2006, 09:41 PM I saw Benny Hinn on TV once, his hair could deflect bullets. | ||
