Anyone ever run a marathon, attempted to, or even strongly considered it?
I signed up for the Marine Corps marathon in DC two years ago, started a solid regime, got up to eight miles a day and then crapped out because it was just too much work at the time and I got lazy. Lost my 80 bucks sign up fee.
I would love to try again. But I think this time i'll join some running club to keep me motivated.

Go for it Dolly!!
I have cousins that run marathons....one of them has done the Boston marathon many times....and he's run ultra-marathons....I think they're like 50 miles.
I'm in awe of people with that much stamina and dedication.

Me too!! It seems so hard to do, and I think that's why I want to do it!
The Boston Marathon is supposedly one of the hardest races. I heard you have to meet a certain time requirement to even get into the race! LOL My goal would be just to finish!

I've never done it, maybe some day, but before that I'll have to exercise a lot! :D

OMG, two people died??? My luck that would happen to me
I know what you mean about the knee problems, too. Whenever I run for any length, the next day my knees are killing me. It might be the shoes.

My old bones will crap out on me after the first quarter mile! :D
Hubby, on the other hand, used to run in a bunch of local marathons. He hasn't done one recently though.
