Lanners05 02-07-2006, 02:34 PM It's going to be on July 1st with close family and friends, at my house in Texas, I already have my wedding dress (though I can't find a picture of it). I was engaged once before and hated the hassle of planning...and I hated how expensive it was on my parents. So, we're flying in on a Thursday, setting things up on Friday and getting married Saturday! My aunt is making Gumbo, my mom's going to pay for the cake, Leigh and I are going to get the decorations, invitations, and a couple of nice wine glasses. Actually, I"m not even sure that I'm going to wear my dress...I have to get into it again.:D But, our wedding is going to be as low key as possible. For our sake and for my family's. Sheesh! We've had enough drama for a lifetime! We're flying out Monday and going to spend 3 days and 2 nights in Las Vegas. We'll be there for the 4th of July so we can see the fireworks :) I'm excited! :) Alanna:o Momma Nessa 02-07-2006, 02:44 PM sounds good.... ours was very low key as it was my third wedding and brian's first but we are laid back people. we did all the food ourselves with friends the night before we were cooking up a storm. we glued stuff... we had a blast... we cemented friendships... almost everything was from the web or ebay... my MIL made our wedding cake. my dress was from ebay the guys ties from ebay the candles we gave as gifts from ebay we had a blast we had a friend of mine do a very short very NON-religous service (we did have jewish ring vows said in english)... we had fun music on CD but brian's boss got us a band... so we had a live 6 piece rock and roll band... Nessa, that's one cool cake topper! :D Lanners05 02-07-2006, 05:09 PM Well, the only thing...well 3 or so things...I want to be a big deal is the cake, the decorations, and the flowers. I want my mom to have a corsage (sp?) and my Memaw and I want a kick ass bouquet! Oh, and invitations, I want some nice, individualized ones on some pretty paper with a cute font and funky envelopes :) I'll work on it. We're still trying to get our airline tickets and such. Maybe 20 or so friends/family (though he doesn't have any family, other than his sister and my family probably won't show up, those that live nearby don't approve). I know its not official, but..it works. I spent a whole month looking at wedding stuff...we were actually planning on getting married in Maui...so that kind of planning needs to be started ASAP! But, for now..I am waiting for him to propose before I go jumping the gun again. :p | ||
